Bazel is a fast and correct multi-language, monorepo build tool built by Google. We built https://github.com/griffinbank/rules_clojure to add Clojure support to Bazel, granting superpowers such as parallel compilation, parallel test execution and test caching. At Griffin, we reduced uberjar times from minutes to seconds, and CI times from hours to minutes.

In this talk we'll talk about the advantages and tradeoffs of using Bazel, the JVM classloader and Clojure compilation model, and the challenges of building parallel compilation of clojure sources.
